Please read these terms carefully before using our car rental services

1. Introduction
Welcome to CarRental ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our car rental services and website. By accessing our services or making a reservation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CarRental. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.
Important: Please read these Terms carefully and keep a copy for your records.
2. Rental Agreement
2.1 Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years (25 for luxury vehicles)
- Valid driver's license held for at least 1 year
- Valid credit or debit card in the renter's name
- Proof of insurance (where applicable)
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
2.2 Rental Period
The rental period begins at the time specified in your reservation and ends when you return the vehicle to the designated location. Late returns may incur additional charges calculated on an hourly or daily basis.
If you need to extend your rental, you must notify us at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and may require additional payment.
2.3 Vehicle Condition
You acknowledge that the vehicle is in good working condition at the time of rental. You agree to conduct a thorough inspection before leaving the rental location and report any pre-existing damage. Failure to report damage may result in you being held responsible for it.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Pricing
The rental price includes the base rate for the vehicle category selected. Additional charges may apply for:
- Additional drivers
- GPS navigation systems
- Child safety seats
- Fuel charges
- Late return fees
- Cleaning fees
- Toll charges
- Optional insurance
3.2 Security Deposit
A security deposit will be placed on your credit or debit card at the time of pickup. The amount varies by vehicle category and rental duration. The deposit will be released within 3-7 business days after the vehicle is returned in good condition with a full fuel tank.
3.3 Cancellation Policy
Free Cancellation: Cancel up to 24 hours before pickup for a full refund.
Late Cancellation: Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the rental price.
4. Insurance & Liability
4.1 Basic Coverage
All rentals include basic liability insurance as required by law. This covers third-party damages up to the legal minimum requirements. It does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself.
4.2 Optional Coverage
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Reduces your liability for damage to the rental vehicle. Subject to excess amount.
Theft Protection (TP)
Covers loss or theft of the vehicle. Subject to excess amount.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Covers medical expenses for you and your passengers in case of an accident.
4.3 Your Liability
You are responsible for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period, including damage from accidents, weather, vandalism, or theft, unless you have purchased optional insurance coverage. You are also responsible for all traffic violations and parking tickets incurred during the rental.
5. User Responsibilities
As a renter, you agree to:
- Operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with all traffic laws
- Maintain the vehicle in good condition during the rental period
- Keep the vehicle locked when unattended
- Use the correct fuel type as specified for the vehicle
- Not allow anyone else to drive unless listed as an additional driver
- Return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel or pay refueling charges
- Report any accidents or damage to us immediately
- Not use the vehicle for illegal purposes or commercial activities
- Not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Comply with all vehicle manufacturer recommendations
6. Restrictions
Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement and legal action:
- ✕Driving off-road or on unpaved roads
- ✕Racing, speed testing, or participating in competitive events
- ✕Towing or pushing other vehicles
- ✕Transporting hazardous materials
- ✕Using the vehicle for hire or commercial purposes
- ✕Transporting more passengers than seat belts available
- ✕Smoking in the vehicle (includes e-cigarettes)
- ✕Transporting pets without prior authorization
- ✕Crossing international borders without written permission
- ✕Subletting or assigning the rental to another party
7. Disputes & Governing Law
7.1 Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute through good faith negotiations. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue mediation or arbitration.
7.2 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York for any legal proceedings.
7.3 Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
